Individuals with at least 5 years of previous teaching experience in the art of dance may apply to test for certification by DMA through DADT. Applicants must test in at least 2 subjects, out of the following options: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern. Those interested in testing must submit the below application via e-mail to DADT Secretary Pamela Mechana at dixiedancemasters@gmail.com. Once application is received, the applicant will coordinate with the chapter secretary on a testing date and location. They will then prepare for the test with the official DMA testing manuals. The applicant will be tested by a panel consisting of the DADT examination committee. They will take a written test, followed by a demonstration portion, performed in front of the examination committee. If the applicant passes in at least two subjects, they become certified by test and may be sworn in as a new member of "Dixie."
